Pre-Gen Con rush rolled into Gen Con rush, and is now the post-Gen Con rush. So, bullet points:
* Gen Con was amazing. I usually have a good (if busy) time there, but this year was both a particularly good time and particularly busy.
* Being able to put faces to names is very helpful to me. Most of those faces being attached to cool people helps.
* Seeing old friends was also awesome. The fact that they were universally excited about my new job is only icing on the cake.
* Fans in person are far, far cooler than fans online.
* I have a list of swag from the con, which I'll post later...
* ... after I finish packing up the apartment, move Friday and then unpack the apartment over the weekend.
* This week I'll also be moving my office, which means I will have moved every aspect of my life to one degree or another this month (including my physical person).
* Verizon promised to call me last week to talk about canceling my service. As of tonight, I have not gotten the call back.
* My "to do" list is currently separated into Past Due, Way Past Due and JESUS FUCK WHY ISN'T THIS DONE YET? Losing access to 10% of my files for the next few days isn't helping. It would be 100% if I hadn't done a backup prior to Gen Con.
Hey Folks,
Been some time since I wrote in this much, but I've been having an interesting summer as one of the ideas/hobbies I've wanted for so long has picked up and given me some real fun, I do Professional Fireworks Displays, nowe with a few groups, I took the course last October inbetween ICC and a vacation back East to NB I took the Professional Display Course and the Indoor Pyrotechnics course and had to wait several months before a show. If I hadn't gone on Vacation I'd have had one at halloween but then I'd have missed many folks and would have been more trouble. So I've gone over to vancouver Island several times over the summer not to go see my friends in Victoria but to go and blow things up in various other parts of the island, I also did the 40th Anniversary of the Sea Cavalcade in Gibsons, but now I have to wait until Halloween for another show so this year I'll have done 9 Professional shows, and have had a great time doing them.
I also go from being a Display Apprentice to a level 1 supervisor in the end. Just going to be a long dry season till my next show.

Right now I'm trying to get stuff uploaded to DriveThruRPG and back up files to stare at and pretend to redline work on in odd moments while at GenCon/airport/etc. Then I go home, argue with Verizon, pack and get up at insane o'clock to catch my flight tomorrow.
My schedule is dense, and likely to change during the convention. The normal strategy of "look for me by the booth" might not even work. I'm going to try to walk the floor a few times as I can, but generally I'm going to be in motion from Wednesday until around Monday afternoon. I'll be checking email on my iPhone and likely Twittering during the convention (which will post here once a night as usual), so I won't be completely out of touch.
Just came across my office list.
